Yesterday, the results of The World’s 50 Best Hotels 2025 — arguably the most prestigious award in global hospitality — were announced. Each year, the ranking celebrates fifty exceptional properties that define excellence in the industry.
This year, two Bali hotels made the list. For the third consecutive year, Desa Potato Head — in my view, one of the finest examples of contemporary hospitality — was recognized once again, ranking 18th.
The second Balinese representative, appearing in the ranking for the first time, is Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve in Ubud. The property has repeatedly been named Bali’s best hotel by Travel + Leisure and Condé Nast Traveller.
Both hotels continue to elevate Bali’s hospitality scene — showing how modern travel can evolve while staying deeply connected to the island’s culture and traditions.
